College Essay
The following is a response to a college essay question. Please don't steal it.
Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you, and describe that influence (Common App: 250-500 words)
Looking up through the peaceful night air of Germany, no one would have ever suspected the chaos that would soon ensue. The hum of the engines could not be heard from the ground, nor could these Flying Fortresses be seen by anyone who wasn’t looking.
For now, the crew depended on James, the radio operator, for their directions as they approached the critical point. “Begin” the man shouted as the alert came over the radio. On this order the bellies of the iron birds opened up, revealing their deadly innards. At James’ command, his plane let go its load, a wall of fire and metal falling to the ground. With soft dins of explosions below soon came gunfire upwards, like backwards rain. James, amid this chaos, continued with what he knew he had to do. Even as shrapnel penetrated his plane, he continued relaying the necessary orders to his crew mates knowing that without him the shrapnel might prove too much.
Most of my days after school were spent listening to stories about these such events, and every time I think back on my grandfather, I can’t help but feel inspired by him. Inspired to be more like him. Dependable, courageous, brave, a leader.
Naturally it was his influence that inspired me to branch out, to take on new tasks hoping people could find me more reliable, more dependable, and to try new things at every given opportunity. It was an influence that sent me down many new paths, one of which eventually led me into the Boy Scouts, where I learned to tie knots, to find which way was north, and, most importantly, to be a leader.

My Little Pony Poetry
During my english class we were all asked to think of two things that we wouldn't expect to appear in poetry and write them down. I chose My Little Pony and Garbage.
After that we were then told to write poetry over these two subjects. Fun.
This was the result:
With the garbage in the dump there lay,
A small pony with a rainbow mane,
Once a child's hopeful toy,
Now crushed, about to be destroyed,
What fate befell this My Little Pony?
What misfortune made it look so lonely?
Once playfully made to trot and trot,
Day in and day out it now will rot,
Perhaps we should take care someway,
To make tomorrow a more playful day.

My Little Pony: Character Faces
Season two of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, after a long wait, finally premiered yesterday. It was as enjoyable as any of us bronies could imagine, if not more. As a fellow brony, I watched its premier on the hub, and found what is now my third favorite face of the entire show.
I have a feeling that statement there is a lie.
Let's have a countdown now. Above was favorite face #3.
Favorite face number two: Twilight Sparkle's face after successfully fleeing from the Hydra.
And finally, favorite face number one: Fluttershy's "squee" face.
Fluttershy is best pony! Long live Fluttershy.

Relationship Advice
So, for those of you who were wondering, that last post was in fact written by my Girlfriend (now ex- Girlfriend). I had kept her mainly a secret from my father, mostly to avoid any awkward conversations that would ensue. But alas, the confrontation finally happened, and following it was the awkward conversation I was expecting: relationship advice from my father.
The first stuff was pretty basic:
Don't just go after one girl,
Don't get into serious relationships just yet,
Try to have a lot of little relationships first, to get the feel of them.
Yeah, all pretty simple, until he started talking about his own relationships:
Try to avoid dating girls between November 15th and February 15th.
Now to this I of course asked why, and of course, this is the time period which contains one of the most concentrated occurrences of holidays, meaning you, the guy, will have to be shelling out more gifts to your girl during this time period should you choose to be in a relationship.
If you're ever dating multiple girls at once, don't tell any one about any of the others.
And yes, he was speaking from experience. He traveled a lot for work before he got married, and thus was able to keep steady relationships in Los Angeles, Austin, and New York.
It's weird, learning about your father's relationships, especially that he was probably a bigger player than you will ever be.

Post Unnoticed
I am the guy with the laptop, the laptop that was taken by me.
I decided it would be a great idea to play chess, I mean who doesn't like chess? It's a good logical game, that requires all the parts of my brain I usually use. I'm also good at it, when I'm concentrating. Well, when I'm getting distracted I can get annoyed, so my girlfriend took my laptop out of boredom.
Because I wrote on her blog not to long ago (April 25th to be exact) She decided to write on mine.
This thought had been bugging her for a while each time she took my laptop, but now she has the chance.
She's pretty abusive, well out of jest of course. Maybe I just annoy her with my snide comments sometimes. But hey, she can annoy me too, so it's cool. I mean this relationship would be boring if we didn't constantly have stupid, non-threatening arguments.
Even so, she can also worry. Of course not that much out of an obvious stance, but she does. I guess my cool demeanor doesn't really let me show any concern, but she has the same shroud around her.
Summer's also coming up soon, and I'll be off to Germany, while she will go to Scotland. She's an avid traveler, and as much as I hate to admit it, she knows more of the world than I do. I just hope that we can keep in touch, and not worry about anything else. She knows relationships can sometimes have problems because of distance, and she's slightly scared of it happening again. She might joke and laugh that we will "mess around" but in all honesty she doesn't want such a thing to happen.
My girlfriend is just slightly scared of commitment, I am her fourth boyfriend after all, but she doesn't want to feel that attached at times. Don't get me wrong she likes me, but she is scared that I don't like her back as much and doesn't want to show it.
As I am playing chess and conversing with a friend, leaving her to write this on my laptop, I find that maybe I shall be enlightened.
-The girl who took the laptop
